~This is the story of Rei Yokuneiro, a young girl now traveling the country in search of the one man who took the only thing she had. Her parents.~
On May 24, a healthy young baby girl was born. Her parents said that she had stunning brown eyes that could see into your soul and black hair that flowed like the wind. Her skin glowed like the moon sometimes, though other times, it showed resentment and sadness.
Her parents, Rokoto, her father, and Amari, her mother were always loved by the village of Hakurei, a village by the moutain of the great Mt. Hakurei. Amari had no other children and had always wanted her only child, Rei to succeed. When Rei was four, she decided to become a priestess. No one except for Rei knows why, and I will tell you why.
On Rei's fourth birthday, she had a dream. In her dream, she had seen a voice at the mountain. To this day, Rei is never sure if someone at the base of the mountain was talking or if it was the moutain itself.
But in the dream, the moutain had told her that if she did not become a priestess, no one will and a plauge would sweep Hakurei.
So, caring for her village, Rei became a priestess. She was taught how to use a bow and a sword, and other priestess ways.
As Rei grew older, Mt. Hakurei began to act strange. Their cattle and other livestock began to grow ill, though not from plauge. Their crop began to wither after scorching heat.
Finally, a week before Rei's eleventh birthday, a great man came to the village. He had long, black, wavy hair and a sence of evil came around him. He asked for lodging and said his name was Naraku.
Naturally, the people of Hakurei village were miles away form any other village, so knew nothing of Naraku.
The now fully trained priestess, Rei, was sent to care for Naraku.
Rei was quiet during her time off serving Naraku, though merely asked his purpose in their small village. She knew to keep her distance from the evil man. When asked, Naraku said, 'I have business to attend.'
Later, Naraku left after one night. Soon, the evil aura returned and Naraku came, eager to slaughter the village.
The slaughter was terrible. Rei managed to shoot a sacred arrow at Naraku, giving him a wound on his back that he would not forget. Then, somehow, Naraku rebounded the attack, after it went through him with a white child with a mirror. The sacred arrow came back at Rei, shooting her in her left elbow. She now has a scar there.
Rei left Hakurei village with her and her friend's and family's blood stained on her. She barely managed to escape and now wanders the country in search of the one man who took the only thing she had. Her parents.
